I have students (8th grade) do photograms of anything they can think of
and boy, can they think of things. Actually cut out snowflakes work
pretty well. We started going for height. I found that a single light
source was necessary to get great shadowy effects. I do dark-room in my
classroom where everyone must work together--pretty exciting with 30 14
year olds. I learned about it from a terrific presenter at a NAEA
conference in Baltimore and it's
one of my favorite subj. areas. We also make pin-hole cameras and do
cliche verre which is scratching out a negative from acrylic painted
glass. Sid
