Several years ago I came across a receipe for making Peruvian whistles out
of clay. The whistles were about three inches long, hollow in the center,
almost like a miniature vessel, and could be sculpted in the shape of a figure
or animal. I had so many of these dittos floating around the art room closet
that finally one day I cast them all into the trash in a furious attempt to
make some kind of order out of the art room closet. I knew that I would regret
this hasty act! Sure enough I've never come across these whistles again, not
even in a craft shop, but always thought they would be an excellent project
appropriate for more than age level. If any of you have seen a lesson plan or
instructions on how to make these whistles or something similar, I'd
appreciate your suggestions.
