We use a document camera that is much more portable and less likely to
get damaged. It is called a Vision Viewer, and it has a small base that
it sets on and the camera part is on a flexible support so you can point
it at whatever you want. The website is

With the document projector - don't most of them have a base and a top
part (kind of like an overhead projector?) - I'd be worried about
hammering metal and torching around expensive equipment. Does someone
use one they can recommend I take a look at? Thank you!
