Re: [teacherartexchange] colored pencils

Date: Sat Sep 27 2008 - 19:26:09 PDT

I have used Prang colored pencils for years with good results. This year, I
tried the Prismacolor Scholar pencils and they are nearly like the more
costly ones. I don't use an electric sharpener. I had a really expensive
commercial sharpener that got gunked up from colored pencils. I called the company and
was told that the warrantee did not apply if I sharpened waxy colored
pencils. For some reason, the wax in the pencils does something to the blades.

BTW, Sally Beauty supply stores have cheap sharpeners for thick and regular
pencils. They work the best yet, as well as catch the shavings.
