My students LOVE them. At first I thought they were too pricey, but
after the investment of 3 pks the first year, I buy one pack a year.
They are wonderful. The students will often use art stix instead of
markers since they maintain a strong color throughout a large artwork.

My answer has been to switch to Prismacolor Art Stix. No wooden casing.
no need to sharpen, just the beautiful colors of a Prismacolor and since
they are a stick, there is a sharp edge if they need a point. I have
been using them for quite a while and they seem to last a long time.
