Hi Gabrielle,
I was wondering the very same thing!
I got certified in November, 1999 and am deciding if I wnat to go
through it again-it was worth it the first time, but my schedule is so
pressed lately, and I am edging toward retirement-although I am not
sure when I will retire. I really enjoy teaching so will only retire
oif the physical demands ever exceed my capability. My schedule has
become difficult- 6 classes daily with 500 kids including emotionally
disturbed and not enough para supports.
So NBPTS may be out of my mix.
What incentives, if any, are you receiving from your district?
Anyway I am not shutting the door but want to know the requirements-I
understand it's changed a lot.
