Dear Art Educators,
This is quite shocking....and should not have happened!
"FRISCO, Texas -- An award-winning Texas art teacher who was reprimanded after one of her fifth-grade students saw a nude sculpture during a trip to a museum has lost her job." http://www.nbc5.com/education/9936513/detail.html?rss=chi&psp=nationalnews
Parents signed permission slips allowing the students to attend the field trip and the principal approved the field trip.
Some parents are given far too much power.
Does anyone from Texas know more about this? Surely there must be more to the story.
Regards,
Judy Decker
