Dear Julie,
For clean up, I put on the side (edge) of the tables a color strip by each
chair( put clear tape over so kids don't pull off). When it's time to clean up,
I will say red put away the pencils, green put away the scissors, yellow wash
the brushes, etc. This way each child at each table has a job. If a seat is
empty, then the first person finished with his or her chore will do the next
chore. Sometimes two kids will do it.

For lining up, I say whoever was in bed (doesn't have to be asleep) at 7:30
line up, next 8:00 line up, etc. You can also line up by favorite colors, ice
cream flavors, doing a chore for Mom, next for Dad. etc. The kids love it. And
it let's me see a little bit better into their lives. Gail
