I think there was an article in Art and Activities a while ago on this.
My 6th graders listened to 6 distinct genres of music and created line drawings. Kandinsky's work was shared and students located types of lines, etc. They chose one of their drawings to enlarge and go over with white glue. These were then printed using black ink and colored added with oil pastels.
