A statue of a revolutionary war hero was installed under
the US Capitol dome Thursday. But, it was an earlier
revolution (in 1680 in what is now New Mexico). The
statue is of Po'pay, a pueblo native who led the
successful effort to drive the Spanish out.
The statue is the work of Jemez artist Cliff Fragua.
Here are links to information and photos of the
artists work now on permanent display in Washington DC.
