Hi Patti - Pour out small cups of liquid starch and have the children dip
colored chalks in, then draw. The chalks become a bit like an oil pastel
texture. The chalks stick to the paper nicely, the colors deepen and a bit of
blending and color-mixing can happen. The younger students feel like they are
painting, but have more control because they are holding hte "paint" in their
hands - no brush. Try it! Sandy J
