Another Starry Night Lesson Idea

Hello All -- This is no doubt not new to you more experienced teachers, but
I wanted to share my lesson on Van Gogh's Starry Night because it was just so
much fun for my students. The children cut small pieces; almost
mosaic-like, from colored papers to simulate Van Gogh's brushstrokes. The backing pages
were 12 x 18" black cardstock. The finished pieces were surprisingly
different from one another - each child found their own combination of colored
papers for their palette and cut their paper shapes in the way they saw the
brushstrokes. Sandy J
