I did my story teller figures using solid clay and pinch/pull (except for
adding the head and the kids). I poked a hole in the bottom with a pencil, slow
fired and did not have one that blew!

Kids started with something like a thick log. We divided the bottom half for
the legs, cut up a bit on the torso to bring out the legs and added the head
and kids.
