Hi Marvin and list,
   This is just a cautionary note to the suggestion for using strobe lights
to get attention from the class....these lights can induce seizures and
disturb vision for some children and adults.

                           an involuntary eye movement disorder
                   

I know one art teacher that uses as red flashing strobe to alert the class
that he needs them quiet.
