Here is another school district that lists the first six weeks of their Core
curriculum in all subjects including Art.
Am I missing something here? It appears that the curriculum does NOT include
ART in 7th and 8th grade. Music and physical ed are offered, but not art. If
that's true, it reflects the trend in many districts across the country today
to disregard art in favor of music and the federal mandated (I believe) phys
ed! It's sad and scary....We need to keep our art programs vital and
pertinent to a child's overall education, as well as highly visual. Music ed strives
to keep their programs heard with an agenda to keep music in the schools, and
rightfully so. But, what about art?
