I recently saw an incredible drawing of film canisters on a web site
( forget which one) showcasing AP work. The film canisters were piled
on top of each other and the artist focused on one section so the
drawing went off all 4 sides of the page. You could glue them down,
make a mini still life and use them for observational drawing. A
spotlight would increase the drama of the shadows. Great for teaching
depth and value! If you had enough, each student could create his or her
own. I think I'll try it myself if I can locate some.
