Has anyone mentioned "Mouse Paint"? Great book about color mixing- I'm sure
many of you have it. "A Big Mistake" by Lenore Rinder is another good one
about a girl who accidentally blobs some paint on her paper & then turns it
into a circus painting. I use this as an inspirstion for a mistake painting.
We look at the painting "Yellow Caterpillar" by Helen Frankenthaler & then the
kids make a mistake on their paper while I count to ten. They trade it with
someone else and have to turn this blob, line, or spot into something. Great
lesson for substitutes!
