Today I had to submit progress report grades for 5 -8. Our grades are
computer generated and we set up the weight for how we want the grades to be
calculated. I set my grades up 10% - Participation which includes coming to
class prepare, following instructions, and doing art exercises in class;
students earn up to 10 possible points. 20% - Test no explaination needed
for that and students are given a letter grade; and last is 70% - Art
Production another letter grade is on based on the rubric score for that
project. I try to include in each Unit that I teach, a score for
participation, a test, and a project; e.g. Color Theory Participation Grade
for Color exercises, Color Theory Test, and Color Wheel Project. I'm just
finishing up color theory with my students in all grades levels so my grades
that went in today are incomplete.
