FYI A million years ago when I taught HS art, I had the kids do an advertising campaign. They had to select a product of their choosing and name it. They were asked to package it and then advertise it with posters, newspaper ads, etc. Of course in those days, computers were not available for creative uses so everything was done by hand. It was fairly open ended but the kids loved it. It was a final project and they were graded on presentation and creativity.

Subject: Re: ad agency lesson
Jude,
I want to do a cooperative lesson with kids in groups of 4 taking on agency roles and utlimately designing an ad or poster for a product. I'm not sure if I should make up the product or have the class brainstorm with me and come up with one.
Or I could have the groups all come up with a product, but my goal was to play the client and have them present to me and the class.
