One year I had my first graders create "Tooth Fairy Pillows". We used two
squares of felt (about 6"x 6"). The kids did an over stitch around the edges
with large needles and thin yarn.. Each child designed their own tooth fairy for
the front from felt, fabric scraps, yarn, etc. They glued it down with
fabric glue (Aileen's). After, they drew a wand with thin permanent marker in the
fairy's hand. Then we added gold or silver lines around the top of the wand for
sparkle. (You could probably use thin lines of Elmers and glitter.)
Another small square pocket of felt was added on the back in which to hold the
tooth- glued around three sides with an opening on the top. The last step was
stuffing with fiberfill. The kids were very excited about this project and really
used them!
