You could take the life size animal project - even if you didn't make the
final 3-D animal - but the planning stages to it -
Small to Large -

research an animal or organism (science),
line drawing - enlarge on a grid (proportional reasoning) -
try tying in anamorphic drawings (distorted grids),
look at Leonardo's horse for inspiration -
Oldenberg's sculptures -
scale drawings, if you were Tom Thumb,
Marilyn Burns has an activity to compare the proportions of body
measurements and the measurements of the Statue of Liberty (which I
personally hate because the SoL represents an idea - and he used two
different models - so technically it is not correct...) we also marked off
lines in the hall a can of coke would be this big for the Statue of Liberty,
a stick of gum... and marked everything off - could even display line
drawing on bulletin board paper (if you didn't teach in the schools where
that is now forbidden - but for some reason it is okay to have 47 little
ones with one teacher - no maximum capacity from the fire marshal?)

If you are interested in the grid drawings - one year we did contour of
shoes - marked a 2sq in section off - zoomed in for another drawing,
repeated for 4 drawings in the series - looked at the movie Powers of Ten
(both the Eames one and the Imax) used the book Zoom -
