Judy, This is a good site. I am having my 8th graders read some of Van
Gogh's letters.I'm hoping they can grasp what facets in Van Gogh's life
affected his art and how. Later on in the semester I will have each student
pick an artist we have studied and from that artists perspective they will
write a letter to someone. The reader of the letters should be able to grasp
the outside influences that affected the artist. At the end of the semester,
each student will create an independent project and write a second letter
about themselves and how their own life influences what they create. --our
main objective."What influences the way we create?"
I have seen Ben Shan drawings on line too - Some should come up in a
search - I might have a link on my American Artists page.
I posted several other good examples of line drawings over the summer.
