Bunki asked, what is alum.

I went to Google and put in Alum. On the 2nd or third page was three pages of mining it in Yorkshire. Also the beginning of the industry, which is quite interesting.

Now, our server at school will not allow us to reply or forward mail unless we are using the server, which I can't get to because it keeps telling me there is an error. So, I am copying the url for the Alum quarrying site. Quite interesting.

I think that's correct.
Our science resource person also sent me some alum to add to the salt for mummifying this year's chickens. He said it speeds up the process. I don't know how much, yet because our town has still not decided whether they are doing Egypt or not.
