How about using coat hangers and newspaper rolled up into tubes to create the armature of the skeleton? It could then be spray painted white or paper mached. A local artist did a series of great life-size skeletons using this approach and they were wonderful!

i'm in the process of making a giant skeleton and i was thinking of making
the skull 3 1/2 to 4 foot diameter from a sheet and fill it with helium
balloons and spray paint the face

bamboo bends easily as does mmoulding from home depot
