2 1/2 cups flour
1 cup salt
1 Tablespoon cream of tartar
3 Tablespoons cooking oil
2 cups boiling water (I measure and heat in microwave)
Mix dry ingredients. Add oil and boiling water (add food coloring
to water before mixing into dry ingredients). Stir quickly, mixing well.
When cool, knead. Store in airtight container.
For scented variety, substitute 2 pkgs unsweetened Kool-aid for
food coloring. Sometimes I would add an extract (like peppermint),
