I have introduced my Senior Graphic Design students to QuarkXpress and they
have finished the tutorial and 1 project. Does anyone have any project ideas
for Quark? The one I just had them do was one I devised: "Thumbprint
Biography." I had the kids write their biography and then use the Freeform
Type Tool to design their biography into a thumbprint. The lines of type
graduated from 12pts to 6pts. All lines of type had to be curved. Students
observed their own thumbprints as well as thumbprints they found on-line. To
finish their design, students had to find an image that represented the
essence of their biography and use it for the background of their thumbprint.
The "Thumbprints" turned out pretty cool. The kids really enjoyed the
project. I would like something more complex and challenging. Any ideas will
be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Debbie

P.S. Any project ideas using Photoshop and Illustrator? I have Ken Schwab's 3
ideas, the CD cover, the magazine and the dollar bill. Great!!! I did a
magazine cover last year and the kids loved it. ( I did not have Quark last
year.)
