I'm sorry you and your students and colleagues have such a tragic occasion.
One of the most healing things we have done, is to ask students to plan some
kind of
commemoration--a cooperative banner, collage, dedication of a special room,
garden, donating books in the honored person's memory--whatever they can do
that requires
some positive action.
