Need cover ideas

I have been making these neat little folded books with my middle school students. Each page contains an element of design, and each page will fold together to make a book. I told my students that tomorrow we would be marbling paper for the covers and they are so excited, so of course when I went to get out the Marblethix after school it was nowhere to be found. I don't have time to go get liquid starch.Does anyone have any great ideas for a cover? Preferably something that can compare to paper marbling as they were really looking forward to it.
