Well, when I was thinking out loud to myself on this one I was
thinking of having the students begin by making a small head
shape out of papier mache. Then I'd take their photo with the
digital camera and print it out on normal paper. They would then
glue their face to their papier mache head and then build up the
nose, cheeks, etc. ... it can't help but be a caricature. What
I'm stuck on is coming up with a sort of 'uniform' body structure
and a way to make the head bobble (someone mentioned a dowel type
mechanism, a la, presumably, the bobbing head dogs one sees in
the back of cars ... that has potential).
