Require them to read if they don't have work from other classes to do.
Check with your librarian. It takes ours a week after school starts to
get the kids system up and running (lots of turn over with kids and the
stupid system (computer causes problem not librarian) give the kids a
new password each year). Teachers though can check out books any time.

Okay, I apologize that this is not an art question, but it does have to
do
with teaching.
I start school tomorrow and I just found out I have a study flex
(hall).
Since I'm a newbie, can anyone tell me what I'm supposed to do with
these
guys for first day and the rest of the week. I never had a study hall
when I
was in school so I don't even know what it's like.
