Fractals and Crop Circles???

This is a great site - I did not find the nude fractals at all offensive -
LOL

Speaking of fractals - can anyone explain the math connected to these
wonderful images. The center of a sunflower is a fractal - am I right. Are
the
numbers descending/ascending in size like Fibronaci numbers or what. CAn they
be created with a compass/protractor/what or do they require a computer and
some formula? Can they be created in the classroom without a computer?

Also - Crop Circles - I was told that they are usually mathmatically based -
on the
 number 6??? What is all that about. Some rogue Mathmaticians going out in
the night and by the light of the moon follow some math formula.???

These questions are coming from someone who hated math - perhaps being told
about fractals and crop circles could have saved me from repeating algebra
3x over in college
