Hello all,
I am working with a 2nd grade teacher to reinforce map making/reading skills.
We are using their class terms of "urban, suburban and rural" as vocabulary,
learning about "point of view, color scheme" and "focal point" as art
vocabulary, and just hoping there might be some ideas out there. I am
thinking about of the design of an imaginary place (their choice of urban,
sub, rural or a combo) and illustrated almost like a cartoon. I used to do
those maps that are a caracature of the town and businesses as a freelance
artist and have some samples for them. "Where's Waldo" theme, almost.
Brainstorming here. First class is this week, and we will be doing the same
(brainstorming) and sketching ideas. Should I go 3D? Paint? Collage? I
love mixed media. Throw anything out here that may come to mind. Thanks in
advance.
