If you don't have one now get a copy of your state curriculum. It will
list themes in history that might help you.

Subject: silk show and classroom connections
I recently moved from an art teacher position in an elementary school,
to a museum education position. We will be exhibiting a silk show soon
and we have come up with lots of classroom connections, such as textile
industry, industrial revolution and paintings in response to the ind.
rev. etc. We've also tossed around ideas about science connections with
silkworms and their life cycle.
Can you think of any other connections to a classroom theme? Asian
inspiration in textiles vs. other art forms: ceramics, painting,
printmaking?
