Here's a good patriotic lesson I tried today and was very successful:
The title: America the Beautiful
I cut out stars for the 1st and 2nd graders and I had them write on it
"Freedom to..."
and had the kids complete the sentence and decorate the star (glitter,
crayons, colored pencils, etc.) The results were wonderful. They wrote that
they had the freedom to read or ride their bike or play baseball, etc. Loved
their answers and I filled the bulletin board with all of the stars.
