Cranes and Peace Doves

Wondering how and when and what to keep up with my students emotional needs.
Thank goodness that all of you are out there to help me think this through.
I am
so numb - it is hard to think. I did the Dove of Peace project with all
grades and
reached out to the teachers whose classes I would miss because of some of our
special meetings and assemblies. So by now all have had the opportunity to
decorate a Dove of Peace or two. Some children said -"they must be kept
white" ok
others said "I want it to be colorful and happy" ok. Thinking I would just
be able
to go back to my regular projects next week - but knowing I can;t. 100%.
Think I will have
the Peace Doves available for anyone who wants to make another - will have
instructions for the cranes available.- for anywone that needs to make a
tribute
or work out their feelings after they have worked on their assigned project.
   Thanks for being there all you wonderful art teachers.
