I work with the integrated curriculum at my school, but at my discretion. I
do ask the teachers if they have any requests, to give them to me one six
weeks in advance. I plan for an entire year and only see the kids once a
week.
I think you could ask the classroom teacher to give you the topics at the
beginning of the six weeks. If she doesn't, plan whatever you want. You need
time to do research. Plan your projects around math, science and social
studies topics. That way, you can fit your lessons in even if you don 't know
what the teacher is doing ahead of time.
Some of the things I do are:
pottery when the fourth grade studies native tribes
Architecture based on the historic homes in our town when third grade studies
local histoy.
Portraits when first grade studies likes and differences among themselves.
Adinkra designs when first grade studies pattern.
Georgia O'Keeffe when fifth grade studied nature in preparation to going to
camp.
Landscapes when fourth grade studies Texas regions.
Tessellations with fifth grade
Jungle scene when second grade studies landforms

Just a few, but I could give you more ideas if you need them. Janet
