We saw a really good video on how paints and paintbrushes were made about
four years ago. Most pigments start from natural materials, according to the
video. It's been like that since ancient man started making pictures on the
wall. I just finished a unit on Lascaux caves and I pointed on the stains
that kids get on their clothes when they play outside in the grass and dirt.
Those same colors help make up our paints. I know modern man has improved
on nature, but that's were it started. JH
