I play a variety. Harp music, Celtic, The Rugrats CD, Beethoven, Mozart, and
I allow my fifth graders to bring their own music. It can't have a single
song on the cd that is objectionable. (I defined that thoroughly) I find
they're quieter when they hear the music of their choice.
I also tried the suggestion of playing a story on tape for third grade and it
worked great. You could have heard a pin drop! Janet
