I play Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The kids like to guess which season is
which through the music. I've also used Mozart and baroque.
In other settings, we listen to Silly Songs, 50s music or the Beach Boys.
Every so often something current comes up like the soundtrack from Titanic,
and that wasn't bad background music, either.
I once had a class that cleaned up promptly so we could do the Macarena
before they left. I also have a Halloween tape with Monster Mash, etc. on it.
I teach at two el. schools and have found that while music is effective
at one school, it does not work for me at the other. Has anyone had this
experience?
