Teri recommends this as a lesson for MS or HS. I tried
the whistles with my 11th and 12th graders. My friend,
Cindy, who teaches elem art does whistles and gave me one
for my birthday. I took it to school and use the lesson
plan she gave me with it.

Let me tell you, it was just as hard at the HS level to
get them to whistle as at the lower level. I'd say 80%
could not get the whistles to whistle - me included;P I
had a student aide who did not like to get his hands
dirty. He took over getting the whistles to whistle. He
made every one of them sing. They were lined up on his
desk when he came in so he could work on them. All I can
say is that he felt very needed and his hands did get
dirty.

PS I plan to use the 2 sites posted this week on whistles
before we try it this year. I used the whistles lesson
with an anatomy lesson. The kids had to have a figure on
their whistle. They came out great! (Aside from the
technical problem of whistling:)
