I haven't felt that where I live, and I'm and artist that teaches to supplement. I wish I could live off my art, but hey, I know reality is. The artists here seem to respect "me" more for
teaching, if that's possible, at least that's what I feel their reaction is. It's too bad, the community you describe sound "snobby."
