Increased problem solving skills, pride in work, understanding of the time and care it takes to produce a work of art, appreciation for the work of artists and how they influence and reflect society and cultures, and increased ability to focus on details and differentiate. Also improves language arts skills where vocabulary, critiquing, and writing about works of art are part of curriculum. I also tellmy students that graphic arts in the technological world is a very important and critical skill. 80% of our student will be employed in jobs that demand technological skills. With automation, even Burger King will soon be run by 1 person. There won't even be burger jobs for kids. They must compete in a very visual, technological environment. ann carolan
