Well, I'm not sure its foolproof, but I do add the powder to the COLD water
as per the instructions and I mix it with my hands for about 5 mins...or have
a kid do it. Some of them love the gucky feeling. I mix it in an ice cream
pail, about 3/4 full. Then, I let it sit overnight. Most of the lumps
dissolve. It gets really thick, so I divide it in half and add more water.
This way, I get two gallon pails of goop for every package. the slickest
trick I have is to leave a fan on the paper mache pieces day and night. I
turn everything a couple of times a day. they dry really hard and crispy.
Happy mixing!
