I don't have a great deal of experience as a teacher, but I know something
about the legal issues. You must bring this to the attention of the
principal and especially the guidance counsellor. Perhaps the boy and girl
have other behavior histories that come into play. I have started to meet
with home room teachers of any children who give trouble and also with our
vice principals, who are excellent. It is amazing how behavior appears in
many places, not just with one teacher. While the quality of your staff
will matter, you must not try to go this alone. If you meet with either
parent, have an administrator with you. But you should first do the above.
