I was able to visit Giverny this Summer. That was a MUST for me! I stood on
Monet's Japanese bridge (now painted a bright green). Everything looked the
same as his wonderful paintings and the town is quiet and peaceful. Certainly
condusive to inspiration. The only disappointment was that they made his
studio into a gift shop...
I wanted to see his easel, taboret and materials. There wasn't even an
ORIGINAL Monet in the place. They said it was too risky as the security was
very sparce. Still I was glad I visited there.
