A great PBS series to check out is Sir David Attenborough's "Life of
Birds." Was broadcast summer of 1999. Not only are there birds who lay eggs
in the nest of another species, but some birds kill (peck them to death)
their own young on purpose because the food supply can't support all the
hatched young. Nature is often very brutal.
