As a working artist, I enjoyed this post immensely---it cuts through all the
romantic pap surrounding the life of an artist. Being an artist is a
profession--on a par with medicine, law--with a further requirement that you
must re-invent yourself nearly every day--or grow old, stale. This requires a
toughness of the mind, drive, and a tight-focus BS detector--that you point at
yourself every day. Good to start teaching these skills young!
