Hi and Thanks to all who responded on the total inclusion question.....
and it sure was alot of you!!!!
I'd like to take all the letters to my meeting this week and use
excerpts of them. If anyone would not want to me use their response
please let me know. Also it would be helpful to know what state you are
from. Some of you I already know where you are, but some of the
relatively new cyber art friends I'd like to know your state.
BTW- It seems that the general feeling I got from the letters is that we
are all empathatic of the needs of the special ed student , but the
reality remains that many are under trained (in the special ed. area),
under assisted and asked to be "super teacher" by handling all the
regular ( and some very challenging ones) and the special Ed students in
a class that does not met their developmental needs. The term "least
restrictive environment "has been stretched to the limilts.
