I would like to know if there is anyone who has any information
about the field of Art Therapy. I have been teaching art at the
elementary level for the last 12 years down here in sunny Miami,
Florida. I am also certified in Elementary Education, Varying
Exceptionalities and Gifted. I realize in order to work in the field of
Art Therapy I will have to go back to school again (!). What type of
jobs are available in this field? Are they far and few between? Is the
pay any good? (I guess that is a relative question...after 15 years of
teaching, with a specialist degree...8 years beyond high school... I
just barely crossed over the $50,000 mark..are we underpayed or what?) I
love working with the special area kids..from the gifted to learning
disabled to emotional handdicapped or whatever! Have you noticed how art
reaches these kids for the most part? And many are very talented in art!

I would appreciate any kind of info on this subject!
