Your story reminded me of something that happened a while back. When I
learned that a class was going to Washington, DC to visit some of the sites
on the mall, I mentioned to the students that they should visit the museum
with the giant Alexander Calder mobile hanging from the ceiling. We looked
at slides and were discussing Calder at great length. Even tho I was not
going on the trip, I was thrilled that they would be able to actually see
this mobile and report back their excitement. I tipped their teacher off
on this and she did take them into the museum. According to the students, as
they entered the building to behold the breathtaking giant mobile, the
teacher accompanying them said, "Is that IT?".
Some people just don't get it.
